Hello! My name is Iris. I am very curious, and like to find good deals and experiment methods taught in books. I like to try new things as well. This is my first time writing an English blog since English is not my native language.

I am Chinese born and grew up in Taiwan and came to the United States in mid 90’s. My dad came to Taiwan from China after World War II. He fell in love with my mom who was born and grew up in Taiwan at the first sight. They have four children. Both of them are tough and disciplined us very much. They are our role models in terms of saving money, living within means, and morals.

When I was 15, a high school classmate slept over and we talked late into the night. Somehow the topic ended on where we’re going after death. My brain went blank and for the first time in my life I couldn’t fall asleep. Since then, I read philosophy, psychology and any books that might help me find the truth. Our family is not religious, and I’m not fond of religious organizations, so I didn’t go the religious route until very late in my life. However, after attending a Buddhist temple for four years, I decided to part from it.

After my dad passed away in 2009, a series of events led me to realize what life is. Since then I’ve been living in miracles almost every day. I am not a millionaire but I live in abundance gratefully. I wish one day I could be enlightened.

I don’t want to get to the end of my life and find that I just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well. ~ Diane Ackerman
